ὕ L'idée du Samedi ὕ

Doesn't this resemble the atmosphere and mood of a summery afternoon in the most perfect way?

... and the afternoon flew by, so sweet and stringy as honey

(George Bernard Shaw)

Luck is that chair, which suddenly appears just in the
moment you want to seat yourself between two other ones. (George Bernard Shaw)

Sunday's coffee table

Sunday's festive table - just for drinking coffee with my grandparents, my parents, my cousin and her family.

Everyone can take a picture. Even a machine. However not everyone is able to observe. Insofar photography is an art as it uses the art of observation. Examination and observation is an elemental poetic action. Reality also has to be formed if you want to let it speach.

ϖ L'idée de Samedi Dimanche ϖ DELAYED

A little late but these true words had to be posted this weekend. I should really take the idea of this passage to my heart because I very much tend to plan my life in the future and not embrace the moment!

To translate Thomas Mann is actually almost daring but I want to try to catch at least the main facts of this little paragraph. It is from the book series "Thomas Mann - Essays - Volume 2 - For the new Germany 1919-1925":
"The visitors are gone, alone again in your room you sit and reflect. How you build relationships in your life, real relationships between you and spheres of reality. In your dawn/In former times you were apt to ascribe them an only intellectual and mystic existence. Life is implementation, realization in every sense, and just hereby fantastic {...}"

On Monday there will be the "Coloured Monday" and Saturday will now be the day with an inspirational text, a nice quote or just an intelligent thought! This one is from Nothomb's book "Attentat". Gist translation:
"You have to keep up with times. In middle age times I would not have travelled far away without encasing my beloved in a tower or chastity belt. In 19th century I would have bought a strait jacket. Today - in fatuous consideration of individual freedom - all those well-considered and responsable methods are not at our disposal. To keep individuals under control, we have to bombard them tele-communicatively."
(Novel by Amélie Nothomb)
