The very very first Pick of today's post is a competition I recently heard about over at modeopfer110.de. The founders of this German Fashion platform are really great, I was lucky enough to meet one of them at a Berlin Startup event. Why I like their site? I love the illustrations and the general feeling: it is the opposite of a Fashion Victim site but rather has great information about designers, schools etc.

The competition is about the German word "Modeopfer" which means "Fashion Victim" in English. You can design your own T-Shirt featuring this word and send it in to Modeopfer 110 until 4th March 2012. It is a cooperation between them and the Fashion Label Labenski. The price? 500€ + your t-shirt will be produced and sold over Labenski Online Shop.

Der erste Pick des Tages ist ein Wettbewerb über den ich vor einiger Zeit gehört habe – von der Plattform modeopfer110. Die Gründerinnen sind wirklich ausnehmend sympathisch, ich durfte eine der beiden bei einem Echtzeit-Event in Berlin persönlich kennenlernen und war ganz begeistert! Und warum ich die Seite mag? Sie ist eben gerade nicht für oberflächliche Modeopfer gemacht, sondern bietet Hintergrundinformationen zu Designern, Mode, Schulen etc. Und die Illustrationen sind dazu auch noch klasse!

Der Wettbewerb geht also um das Wort Modeopfer:

"Mit dem Wörtchen "Modeopfer" lässt sich einiges assoziieren. Darum haben wir uns gefragt,
was euch wohl so in den Kopf schießt, wenn ihr an den Namen unseres Portals denkt.
Ab sofort habt ihr die Gelegenheit es uns zu zeigen. Designt euer eigenes Modeopfer110 Shirt!

Zusammen mit dem Onlineshop Labenski suchen wir den besten Entwurf zum Thema "Modeopfer“.
Unter allen Einsendungen werden wir den originellsten und schönsten Entwurf auswählen und
mit 500,- Euro belohnen. Und nicht nur das – das Gewinnermodell wird darüber hinaus exklusiv

Ich bin auf jeden Fall gespannt, was am Ende rauskommt bei dem Projekt! Schade, dass ich selbst gar nicht gerne T-Shirts trage (Blusen stehen mir besser! – macht doch damit mal nen Wettbewerb ;).

Wo wir gerade bei Mode sind: Ohne viel Aufhebens haben die Herbstschauen 2012 begonnen und es sind mal wieder so richtige Knaller unter den Kollektionen. Drei meiner Favoriten bisher:

Fashion Fall began

Without a lot of fuss the Fashion Fall Shows 2012 began and there are some real beauties in there again! Three of my favourites so far:

1. Burberry again! I know it gets boring, but don't you just love the idea of oversized ruffled pockets and a bow belt around your coat?!!
   Burberry mal wieder! Ich weiß, wird langweilig mit mir, aber ich liebe einfach den Gedanken an einen Mantel mit übergroßen Pouch-Taschen und einem gelben Schleifengürtel, ihr nicht?!❤
2. Ohh, just another revival of the 50s with Jil Sander. How wonderful pale and elegant!
   Ein weiteres Revival der 50s mit Jil Sander. Wunderbar pastellig und elegant❤
3. Finally Erdem: much more vibrant colours than in previous collections. A lot of touches of Granny styles in the outfits, but very wearable and great details!
   Schließlich Erdem: sehr viel kräftigere Farben als in den vorherigen Kollektionen, ein kleiner Touch von Omas Schrank in manchen Outfits – aber toll tragbar mit wunderbaren Details!❤

Traders of good old finds

2. Japanese Shop for Vintage and classic goods. I love the ALDIN cloths! Isn't it great to just take a peek into a shop which is not only a few kilometers but thousands away!!!???
   Japanischer Shop für vintage Produkte. Ich möchte gern ein ALDIN Geschirrtuch, bitteschön! Ist es nicht toll, in ein Geschäft zu lunschen, welches nicht nur einige Hundert, sondern tausende Kilometer entfernt ist? ❤
3. A vintage goods Etsy shop called sandgatesalvage, which is really not that big but I love the Roll Top Chest (I don't really know what to use it for, but I am sure I would find some craft supplies which fit in there ;) and check out the Coca Cola wooden crate – perfect for food photography I think.
   Ein kleiner Etsy-Shop namens sandgatesalvage, der nicht beosnders groß oder einzigartig ist, aber ich hab mich in diesen Mini-Schrank verguckt (ich weiß zwar noch nicht, was ich reintun würde, aber ich bin sicher, es finden sich einige Handwerksutensilien ;). Auch toll: der Coca Cola Flaschenhalter aus Holz – toll fürs Fotografieren, kann ich mir vorstellen! ❤

Pinners to follow

Do you know that feeling? There are some pinners out there you are just glad when you see that they are on a roll and you could literally repin each and every single picture! Below you'll find three names I like to see popping up in my feed.

Kennt ihr das Gefühl? Es gibt ein paar Pinner, wo ich mich unheimlich freue, wenn sie gerade eine Pinning-Phase haben und ich könnte wirklich jeden Pin repinnen. Unten ein paar Namen, bei denen ich mich freue, wenn sie im Feed auftauchen:

1. You know she just pins quality! Jeska from Lobster and Swan – not only her blog is fabulous but also her pinboards.
   Bei ihr weiß man: sie pinnt Qualität: Jeska von Lobster and Swan hat nicht nur einen fabelhaften Blog, sondern auch ganz fabelhafte Pinboards. ❤
2. I really don't know what else she does but her pins are wonderful: Kaffeekanna on Pinterest.

3. The founder of PR couture and co-founder of GIVEN. I love her FOREVER board! ❤

My breakfast indeed takes place a little late, because I came back from Cologne (imm) quite late at night at 2.30am. Today in the morning I already did a little #sistermagrun (have you started your challenge already). Thus it has taken a few hours to prepare the links I've collected for you!

Hotel Inspirations

Yesterday I visited the imm Cologne (international furniture fair), thus I am a little hooked on interior design today. What comes to mind? Hotel Design of course. I've found a few beautiful homes when you're away. With many ideas for your own home!

Gestern war ich auf der imm Köln (internationale Möbelmesse), daher bin ich noch ein wenig auf Interior Design geeicht. Und wo gibt es immer tolle Ideen zu sheen? Natürlich in Hotels! Deshalb hier einige wunderbare Zufluchtsorte in der Ferne mit tollen Ideen – fürs eigene Haus?

Illustration

I realized I haven't shared illustrations for a long while. Thereby this is one of my favourite thing to look at and to pin to my Pinterest boards. A few of my recent favourites:

Heute morgen hab ich realisiert, dass ich schon lange keine Illustrationen mehr gepostet habe. Dabei verbringe ich recht viel Zeit mit dem Durchschauen von Portfolios – meine Lieblingsbilder zum Anschauen und Pinnen. Einige meiner Favoriten der letzten Tage:

   Gefunden via French Knot, obwohl ich Tumblr-Quellen gar nicht so mag, weil da die Originalquelle des Illustrators meist verloren geht. Deshalb kann ich leider nicht sagen, von wem die Illustration ist. Der Stil erinnert an Caitlin McGauley ❤
3. I noticed Wayne Pate because of his London illustrations (I know I am a London lunatic ;)). However his portfolio has a few other gems! |
   Aufmerksam geworden bin ich auf Wayne Pate durch seine London-Illustrationen (jaja, London-Verrückte ;). Jedoch hält sein Portfolio noch ein paar weitere Schmuckstücke bereit ❤

Before anything else I've got a big question for you: I am right now considering getting a new and much more professional camera (for SISTER, blogging and all the other occasions ;)). I am using a Canon G10 right now and although I am very happy with it, you can see it flaws and where it just is not a DSLR. Can you recommend any to me and more important – does any one of you have experience with Nikon D7000? Is it any good??

Zu Beginn habe ich eine für mich wichtige Frage: zur Zeit überlege ich, mir eine neue und professionellere Kamera zu kaufen (für SISTER, Bloggen, Produktfotografie etc.). Ich nutze derzeit noch eine Canon G10, mit der ich zwar immer sehr zufrieden war, aber man merkt dann doch ihre Grenzen. Könnt ihr mir eine Kamera empfehlen und hat irgendjemand Erfahrung mit der Nikon D7000? Ist die gut?

My favourite Christmas Deco Pins
With Pinterest it is not only nice to see inspiring homes, food or fashion from all over the world, I also like how seasons change on Pinterest. Especially in winter and christmas time there is a certain buzz of excitement when Christmas Boards are filled again. Here are three of my favourite decoration finds of last week:

Pinterest ist nicht nur ein toller Ort, um Design + Rezepte + Mode aus aller Welt zu finden. Ich bin auch immer davon fasziniert, wie die Jahreszeiten in diesem virtuellen Pinboard wechseln. Vor allem im Winter und um Weihnachten herum merkt man einen regelrechten Buzz aus Aufregung und Vorfreude und die Weihnachts-Boards beginnen sich zu füllen. Hier sind einige meiner Lieblings-Pins zum Thema Weihnachtsdeko der letzten Woche:

1. I tried to convince my dad to such a crazy alternative of a normal tree – he wasn't too fond of it I think ;). I've never really liked white trees but this picture from desire to inspire totally changed my mind! | Dieses Jahr wollte ich meinen Vater von einer solch verrückten Alternative zum normalen Baum überzeugen – er war nicht sehr begeistert ;) Ich habe früher diese weißen Bäume auch nicht gemocht, aber das Bild auf desire to inspire hat meine Meinung total geändert. ❤
2. Just a perfect winter setting – rustic and cozy with red bows on the front porch ;) | Das perfekte weihnachtliche Haus mit roten Schleifen vor dem Fenster! ❤
3. Easiest decoration with a velvet ribbon and a little green but I think it is soooo effective (of course I also like the vintage look on the lock ;)) | Die einfachste Dekoration, die man sich vorstellen kann: ein wenig Samtband und Ilux-Zweige und trotzdem unheimlich wirkungsvoll (natürlich auch wegen dem Vintage-Look des Schlosses ;)) ❤
4. Some skates, a little green and a big bow – how perfect! | Ein paar Schlittschuhe, ein Weihnachtsstern und Schleifenband – perfekt! ❤
5. Okay, I admit: the last one really isn't about the decoration but more about the human ressources in the picture – I would sure spend Christmas with those three ;) – Ad from Banana Republic | Ich geb es ja zu: der letzte Pick wurde von mir nicht wegen der Dekoration ausgewählt, sondern eher wegen dem Humankapital des Bildes – mit den dreien ist Weihnachten bestimmt lustig ;)! ❤

2. A film from the popular living blogger and photographer Selby (which I have featured on this spot before) with Lucy Chadwick in an initiative for ZARA. Lucy talks about her art, her house up states and the meaning of materials etc. While doing that she is wearing an adorable pair of glasses from Cutler & Gross, loafers and little metal edges on her blouse's collar (just reminds you of every fashion blog right now, doesn't it ;))?? | Ein Film des berühmten Living-Bloggers Selby (den ich an dieser Stelle auch schon einmal dabei hatte) mit Lucy Chadwick in einer Initiative für ZARA. Lucy spricht über ihre Kunst, ihr Haus auf dem Land und die Bedeutung von Materialien etc. Dabei trägt sie eine wunder-wunder-wunderbare Brille von Cutler & Gross, Loafers und kleine Metallecken an der Bluse (kommt jedem Fashion-Blog-Folger bekannt vor, was? ;)) ❤
3. A crazy and hilarious idea: Johannes took over 2800 pictures in the course of three weeks moving into his appartment. Just hilarious to watch and I was lucky enough to meet the designer two weeks ago and talk about his great app project DONE ❤ (Video: ❤) | Eine verrückte und wunderbare Idee: Johannes stellt mit über 2800 Bildern den Einzug in seine Wohnung innerhalb 3 1/2 Minuten dar. Wunderbar anzuschauen und ich durfte den Designer vor zwei Wochen kennenlernen und über sein tolles Projekt DONE ausfragen, welches ihr auf jeden Fall anschauen solltet ❤ (Video: ❤)

Breakfast Picks

… today we are revisiting an old breakfast picture. This was taken in Copenhagen in October 2010, when Tanja and I spent a few days in the Danish capital. Our day normally began in one little coffee/bakery place near the hotel right at Rådhuspladsen. And we must admit: we mostly enjoyed the Danish treats like little tarts, Smørrebrød but most of all kanelsnegle (which means cinnamon rolls!). With this little visit of past experiences I want to wish all of you a pleasant Sunday and hopefully you'll find some inspiration in the links below!

… heute schauen wir mal in die Historie mit dem Frühstücksbild. Das obige Bild wurde nämlich in Kopenhagen im Oktober 2010 gemacht, als ich mit Tanja einige Tage in der dänischen Hauptstadt verbrachte. Ein typischer Tag begann für uns in einem kleinen Coffeeshop/Bäckerei gleich neben dem Hotel am Rådhuspladsen. Und wir müssen wohl zugeben: die dänischen Essensspezialitäten hatten es uns doch angetan: kleine Törtchen, Smørrebrød und vor allem anderen kanelsnegle (also Zimtrollen). Und mit diesem kurzen Rückblick zu vergangenen Frühstückserlebnissen wünsche ich euch allen einen schönen Sonntag und hoffe, dass ihr die eine oder andere Inspiration in den heutigen Links findet!
