A crazy week. And a motley post!

Long time no see, my dear Neu4bauer readers!
It has been a crazy week beginning with my birthday on Monday. I had a consultation about my dissertation in the morning, which luckily went well. A big surprise was a little visit from my parents who came by in the afternoon! Not the best time because I was literally wading through stuff ;), covered in flour and sweating like crazy *hehe*. My dad still makes fun of me that he had to bring his own cake for my birthday!

My mom wore a lovely dress which I have never shared with you, although it is quite old already. The blue knee-length garment was inspired by Prada's Fall 2010 collection (so it is ages ago ;)). In the evening I had invited a few friends over and we had a really nice, comfy evening with loads of pizza (homemade fig-and-prosciutto and spinach), soup and cake (lemon cake + apple poppyseed from a friend). The theme of the evening was "Citrus & Autumn", thus the colour scheme was all about yellows, greens and oranges.

On Tuesday I was able to meet a new contributor for SISTER Magazine in Leipzig. Claudia is an architect who just moved back to the city and who will help with our magazine. You can read her profile on our blog here. I also finished the web design of our SISTER Blog, which I now really like. However it is getting quite a bit of a struggle to regularly create content and posts for so many platforms ;).

On Wednesday I drove to Berlin in the afternoon in order to travel to London. I had a ridiculously late flight at 9.40 pm and finally got to our London Flat at around 1a.m. (2 am German time) in the morning. However it was the start of a really wonderful time in the English capital. I was able to meet two of my highschool friends again, connect to new friends from London and on Saturday I had another little birthday bash with my London friends at The Blues Kitchen ❤ in Camden Town.

Toni and I discovered a lot of new and great places in London in the last couple of days. My favourite "Let's meet and work place" of this week is "The Riding House Café" ❤ on Great Titchfield Street near Oxford Street. We actually stayed there for ages and had breakfast, lunch and many cups of tea! Funnily enough the waitress for our table turned out to be from Dresden ;)!
I am very excited about the progress we achieved on Saturday since we were able to structure the whole magazine and already started thinking about exact articles and features. It is all getting into shape now!

Jetzt hab ich wirklich schon ewig nicht mehr gepostet, liebe Neu4bauer-Leser!
Es war eine verrückte Woche, die mit meinem Geburtstag am Montag begann. Ich hatte zunächst eine Konsultation bezüglich meiner Diplomarbeit am Morgen, die zum Glück ganz gut lief. Eine große Überraschung war dann ein Kurzbesuch meiner Eltern am Nachmittag. Jedoch kamen sie wirklich nicht zur besten Zeit, denn ich watete im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes durch eine Menge Zeug in meiner Wohnung, war einmal in Mehl getaucht und dabei furchtbar am Schwitzen *hihi*. Mein Vater macht sich immer noch darüber lustig, dass er seinen eigenen Kuchen zu meinem Geburtstag mitbringen musste!

Meine Mutter trug übrigens ein wunderbares Kleid, welches ich euch noch nie gezeigt habe und jetzt schon ziemlich "alt" ist. Das knielange Kleid ist inspiriert von Pradas Herbstkollektion 2010 (also schon totaaaal alt ;)). Den Stoff haben wir in einem kleinen Stoffatelier in Dresdens Neustadt gekauft. Am Dienstag traf ich eine neue Mitarbeiterin für SISTER Magazin in Leipzig. Claudia ist eine Architektin, die gerade wieder in die Stadt gezogen ist und uns mit dem Magazin helfen wird. Ihr könnt ihr Profil auf unserem SISTER-Blog lesen. Das Layout dieses Blogs hab ich dann auch Dienstagnacht fertiggestellt und bin nun endlich zufrieden damit! Mittlerweile ist es ziemlich anstrengend geworden all diese Plattformen regelmäßig zu bespielen und Posts zu schreiben!

Am Mittwoch fuhr ich dann nach am Nachmittag nach Berlin (erstes Erlebnis mit einer [zum Glück] sehr netten Tramperin!) um schließlich am gleichen Abend unheimlich spät nach London zu fliegen. Ich war leider erst um 1 Uhr (also 2 Uhr deutscher Zeit) in unserer Wohnung und dementsprechend ausgelaugt. Nichtsdestotrotz traf ich am Donnerstag zwei meiner liebsten Freunde aus dem Gymnasium, die lustigerweise beide derzeit in London arbeiten und studieren. Dazu durfte ich auch neue Freunde wiedertreffen und am Samstag eine kleine London-Geburtstagsfeier in The Blues Kitchen ❤ in Camden Town feiern.

In London hab ich in der letzten Woche wieder unheimlich viele neue und tolle Plätze und Cafés gefunden. Mein Favorit der Arbeitscafés: "The Riding House Café" ❤ auf der Great Titchfield Street nahe Oxford Circus. Toni und ich waren dort für bestimmt sechs Stunden und frühstückten, aßen Mittag und tranken sehr viel Tee! Lustigerweise stellte sich dann auch noch die Kellnerin für unseren Tisch als Dresdnerin heraus!
Ich bin auch ganz glücklich über das Resultat dieses Arbeitseinsatzes. Am Samstag war es uns möglich die gesamte Struktur des Magazins festzulegen und erste Artikel und Features zu planen. Endlich bekommt alles seine Form und wird konkret!
