New York City ... many many trees!

IMG_7405

As I said ... New York City has been the perfect source for christmas inspirations! Today I want to talk about the Christmas trees. Perhaps there is any idea you will implement in your own christmas!

New York City ... many many lights!!

Back in Leipzig I was welcomed with freezing cold weather (so nothing new for me ;-) and today iteven snowed. I really liked that - with global warming you don't take white christmas for granted!!

Yesterday I again went through our New York pictures. You probably think: well, she showed us quite a few, what could be more?? Well, I wouldn't even say I showed you 1/4 of our pictures ;-) Ruminating about ways to show you my favourite inspirations from New York I decided not to do "linear posting", which would mean that I post pictures from day 1 or day 3 but "themed postings". The running gag in New York was me fancying the lights (and there were plenty of lights to look at ;-). I only had to point at some tree or reflection and Robert would sigh ... but take a picture for me ;-). Thank you!

Thus, we all get the joy of looking at New York Christmas lights today. Have a deLIGHTful day! Only 8 days till Christmas Eve! The countdown is running.

New York City ... one other post!!!

Von wegen Highlights in New York.

Highlights in New York? Well, thank you sooooo much Sardana_creations (on Flickr!!) for the tipp with Anthropologie. I have been on their homepage for several times, but just because of the nice blog commentary I thought about going into one of their stores. One of them is in Rockefeller Center and this "highlight" totally justices one entire blog entry! I have never, never, never in my whole life seen such a beautiful store! Luckily no one said anything against taking pictures because otherwise I would have committed crime and would have taken some anyway ;_).

IMG_3425

I'll post the pictures without many words and only want to emphasize how thrilled I was walking through this wonder-christmas-fabrics-and-ruffles-land!

New York City ... the fourth (13. Dezember)

Blogging!! ;-)

01_soho2

Hey, without even noticing I just hit the 300 mark!!! Well, congratulations to our 300th post together on this blog!
This will probably be my last post from New York but I will promise: it's not the last post ABOUT New York. Today I am just breakfasting alone in order to write this post and answer some emails and then we'll check out of our hotel. We'll both head to some different activities today (I want to see the FIT Museum of Fashion and Robert will go to Guggenheim Museum and wants to buy a book of Frick Collection).
The New Museum of Contemporary Art was a real treat yesterday. Well, the actual art of course needs getting used to but the building is really great. You would never expect it in that environment, but it really adds to the Bowery Street. Furthermore there is a sky terrace where you have a wonderful view over the city!
Talk to you soon! Yours, Theresa

Also, alles Gute zum gemeinsamen 300.

Eure Thea

New York City ... the third (12th December)

schatten

Another very great place to blog from!!! We sit in a little Starbucks right on Broadway in SOHO. A lot of well-dressed people just walk outside our window and we just needed to check out where this "New Museum of Contemporary Art" is!! Our day was special anyway until now. In the morning we took the subway to York Street in Brooklyn. Then we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge (because it was built by a man from Thuringia) and walked to St. Paul's Cathedral. After a quick look onto Ground Zero we now walked along Church Street onto Canal Street (start of SOHO). Soho is a real treat for all shopping fans.
I even convinced Robert to like TOPSHOP (or better: the level with Topman stuff *hehe*). As I said we are now heading to the New Museum. In the evening we'll go to Columbia University in order to get a little guided tour through the campus. Then we'll perhaps attend a christmas concert at St.John's Divine (if we get tickets).

And very important: did I ever tell you how freezing (!!!!) cold the weather in New York is? Well, it is! The wind chill just makes it hard to breeze sometimes and today my feet sometimes got that cold I didn't feel them anymore!

Highlights:
  • Broadway in SOHO (one great shop after the other) and my first time at TOPSHOP

  • the view over New York from Brooklyn Bridge and the atmosphere in Brooklyn

  • the architecture and style of houses in Soho

  • yesterday: the atmosphere in St.Patrick's cathedral

  • Robert's new haircut done at 25th Street/7 Avenue yesterday evening ;-))

New Museum of Contemporary Art" befindet.
