Today the next (and probably last, because the other days were kind of boring and just full of work) update about my Easter holiday. I finally got around to going to Notting Hill (EMBARASSING, it is soooo close to West Hampstead ;-)). A & I went to Portobello Road Market and were amazed at the crowds and crowds and crowds of people rolling through this street. Of course our speed of walking was somewhere between standing and crawling :-). Well, we had a lot of fun anyway and got some great purchases (for example the beige & black dress A. is wearing on the picture above).One of my favourite purchases of the day?!: ROUGH GUIDE to LONDON. I have survived without a proper traveller's guide till now but it always bothered me. This one has only explanatory texts, not many pictures and is written very nicely!
Last thing I want to mention. In the evening we went to a party I had found out about via Facebook (yeah - I know - social media networking can be time consuming and is NOT the way to communicate with real friends – it IS handy at times!) at Kensington Roof Gardens. The location is really amazing. They are located on 6th floor and you have a big exotic garden on there with palms and little niches … please make sure to look at their website for some inspirational pictures: here.
Heute der nächste (und wahrscheinlich letzte, da die restlichen Tage voll mit Arbeit und damit langweilig waren) Post über die Osterfeiertage. Ich hab es endlich mal geschafft, mal nach Notting Hill zu fahren (SEHR PEINLICH, denn das ist wirklich nicht weit weg von West Hampstead). A. und ich sind zum Portobello Road Market und waren milde über die horrenden Massen an Menschen überrascht, die sich durch diese Straße an einem Samstag wälzen. Dadurch regulierte sich unsere Gehgeschwindigkeit irgendwo zwischen Stehen und Kriechen ein :-). Wir hatten trotzdem jede Menge Spaß und haben auch einige tolle Schätze gefunden (zum Beispiel das beige-schwarze Kleid von A., welches ihr in der oberen Collage seht).
Einer MEINER Lieblingseinkäufe des Tages?!: ROUGH GUIDE to LONDON. Ich habe bisher meinen Aufenthalt ohne einen ordentlichen Reiseführer über die Runden gebracht, aber es hat mich immer ein wenig gestört. Diese ist schwarz-weiß, ganz viele schöne erklärende Texte und nett geschrieben. Wirklich zu empfehlen!
Die letzte Sache, die nicht unerwähnt bleiben sollte: am Abend gingen wir zu einer Party, auf die ich durch Facebook aufmerksam wurde (jaja, soziale Netzwerke sind gaaanz schlimm ;-), aber doch sehr praktisch!) und in den Kensington Roof Gardens stattfand. Eine sooo tolle Location: 6. Stock in Notting Hill und man hat da oben einen richtig exotischen Garten mit Palmen und Sitznischen … also bitte die Website anklicken und sich von den Bildern inspirieren lassen: hier!
