Highgate Cemetary

My dear readers,

I have to apologize a hundred times for the last week without any London/Fashion/Thought/What-so-ever-post! I had been home for the weekend for an oral presentation for my studies in Leipzig and today I am again home for an oral exam about "Project management" tomorrow. I'll be soooo happy, when this is over. Other than that I spent the weekend working on my sketchbook and watching an awful lot of FRIENDS. My life in London has changed a lot again, I am going to move to another flat next week and I am looking for a job right now in order to have a little side money. Thus, my blog got neglected. However I did a lot of picture taking in the last days and I have a bunch of material for the blog. Exciting!!!

Today I want to show you the pictures of Highgate Cemetary, a place which was recommended by a fellow student from highschool times. I went there with another book arts student and we had a lovely picture walk (despite of the cold ... we were freezing in the end!). Highgate Cemetary is very near to the Northern Line Station Archway. You must pay an entry fee and you are not allowed to take commercial pictures but it has a very special, calm atmosphere and you are welcome to take personal pictures or for us - project-related fotos.
I really love the colours of the images - the dark green, the grey and brownish tones. It just feels as if spring could almost beckon from behind that far corner and I am sooo much looking forward to that!

Meine lieben Leser,
eine hundertmalige Entschuldigung für die letzte Woche, in der es gar keine London-/Mode-/Gedanken-/Was-auch-immer-Posts gab. Ich war letzte Woche für eine mündliche Präsentation zu Hause und in Berlin und auch heute sitze ich in meiner Wohnung in Leipzig, da wir morgen mündliche Prüfung im Fach "Projektmanagement" haben. Ich bin sooo froh, wenn das vorbei ist. Letztes Wochenende habe ich an meinem Sketchbook gearbeitet und eine ungesunde Menge an FRIENDS-Staffeln angeschaut. Mein Leben in London hat sich auch mal wieder geändert, in der übernächsten Woche ziehe ich um und suche derzeit nach einem Job für ein bisschen Extrageld zum Ausgeben. Deshalb wurde der Blog also so vernachlässigt. Nichtsdestotrotz hab ich die Zeit genutzt, um viele Bilder zu machen und hab also gaaanz viel Material für die nächsten Posts!

Heute möchte ich euch die Bilder vom Highgate Cemetary (in der Liste rechts ganz unten) zeigen, der mir von einer ehemaligen Schulkameradin empfohlen wurde. Ich war dort mit einer Kommilitonin vom LCC und wir hatten einen wunderbaren Fotospaziergang (trotz der Kälte ... am Ende sind wir fast erfroren). Highgate Cemetary befindet sich im Norden Londons nahe der Northern Line station Archway. Man muss zwar einen geringen Eintritt zahlen und darf keine kommerziellen Bilder machen, aber es lohnt sich: eine sehr schöne, ruhige Atmosphäre und Bilder für den privaten Gebrauch sind ja trotzdem gestattet.
Was mir besonders gefällt: die Farben der Bilder - dunkelgrün, grau und braune Töne. Es fühlt sich auf manchen Bildern fast so an, als könnte der Frühling um die Ecke winken und ... oh boy ;-), darauf würden wir uns doch alle freuen!
