Visit to BLITZ Vintage

BLITZ London

It was quite a buzz around the London Newsletter and Blogging Community when a new department store called BLITZ opened its doors a few weeks ago. Understandable because that shopping space in Hanbury Street (cross-road to Brick Lane and already quite known for its vintage boutiques) is the very first department store for vintage clothing, shoes, furniture etc. It advertises in bold letters to be the biggest vintage selling space in London.

Hence I was quite excited to see what it is all about and strolled around Spitalfields one cool morning in August (cool indeed, we haven't had decent temperatures for more than a week). I must say that I am indeed impressed with the layout of the store and the display of clothes and products. It all appears very elegant and neat despite the vintage clothing. In my experience from the new stores in London and Berlin, the times of really small backyard sample vintage sales with huge boxes full of old shoes are definitely over. With the vintage beam being so popular among bloggers and young fashionistas, vintage shops become more and more elaborate.
What I definitely liked was the reading and café area with big comfy chairs and a selection of new design books on display.

I didn't end up buying anything and wasn't very tempted by anything. But it is for sure a shop worth visiting when you are in London!
